Therapeutic Approach

We all struggle with life challenges. It is never too late to make positive changes. I believe creating a therapeutic environment is essential for people to be able to express their concerns without judgement. This allows the individual the opportunity to come to an inviting place where one can speak openly and freely about their concerns and struggles. As a therapist, I assist clients with developing their individualized goals and offer tools that can be implemented in their lives. My goal is to offer guidance and support, so clients can take steps to become the healthiest version of themselves.

Individual Therapy

Individuals will often seek out therapeutic services when faced with obstacles they are trying to overcome alone. By participating in individual therapy, people can meet with a licensed clinician who has training and experience working with various therapeutic modalities. Therapy can help individuals learn how to modify behaviors and learn to utilize appropriate coping skills.

About Me

In 2010, I attended Bakersfield College and earned my Associate of Science Degree in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies. Shortly thereafter, I transitioned to California State University, Bakersfield where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies. In 2017, I successfully completed my Master of Arts in Social Work.

In 2021, I obtained my Clinical Social Worker license, license number LCSW 101249. Prior to becoming licensed, I completed 3,000 hours of supervised post-degree professional experience, working under a licensed clinician. I obtained extensive training and experience working for the past 10 years in a non-profit outpatient mental health agency diagnosing mental health disorders pursuant to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Edition (DSM-V) and providing individual and family therapy to children, teens, young adults, adults and parents.

Additionally, I provided services as a therapist working for an inpatient psychiatric hospital providing therapeutic care, conducting groups, and assisting in creating treatment and discharge plans to high acuity patients (both minors and adults). Aside from working for both inpatient and outpatient facilities, I have also worked as a Medical Social Worker conducting biopsychosocial assessments, identifying challenges and problematic concerns such as social, emotional, maturational (newborn through geriatric, depending on assignment) cultural, financial and legal followed by implementation of suitable interventions.

Currently, I am self-employed and have been working in private practice for the past several years. Aside from working with my own clients, I also provide direct clinical supervision to Associates of Social Work for a non-profit agency. In addition, I am also retained by the Kern County Public Defender’s Office where I am requested to conduct mental health evaluations and provide expert testimony (if necessary) within my clinical scope of practice and competence.
